Easter is right around the corner! I have to admit it snuck up on me this year, I think because it was earlier than normal! So for those of you, like me, who were unprepared I’ve got a simple, but yummy, Easter recipe for you to try – Colored deviled eggs!

Every year we have a huge Easter get-together with the family. We’re Southern & we’re Baptist, so a ton of food is always a given at any family gathering :).

One year I made these cute deviled eggs at Easter. They were so easy to make and still had the same great taste. I’m all for easy and quick recipes.

I apologize for the lack of pictures, but 4 years ago I had no idea I’d be starting any type of blog, so bare with me :). I promise to have better posts with how-to pictures to come on future posts!

Simple Instructions:

  1. Boil eggs like you normally would. Put the eggs in a pot & cover with water. Bring to a rolling boil for 12 minutes. Remove the eggs and cool in the fridge. After cooled, remove the shells.
  2. Split them in half & take yolk out. Put yolks in a separate bowl.
  3. Take the whites and drop in food coloring/water mix and let sit until it gets the color you desire. TIP: If you want bolder colors, add more food coloring.
  4. While the whites are sitting, add about 1/2 cup mayonnaise to the yolks (more or less, taste to your preference. I use Dukes Mayo). Mix well.
  5. Take the whites out when they’re ready and dab with a paper towel.
  6. Put the yolk/mayo mixture in a decorating tube (the ones for icing) and put it in the yolk part (optional)! And enjoy!

This recipe is a quick and easy way to be festive & not spend all day preparing for your big gathering.
