Magic Fairy Village- Create Wonder & Imagination In Your Child’s Eyes!
Want to create a little magic in your home? Want your children or grandchildren in awe of their own little fairy village? My grandmother-in-law did just that. She built her own fairy village & I loved it so much I decided we’re gonna have to make one soon!! She did an AMAZING job and I am in awe of all the little pieces and hard work she put into this!! It was all worth it when the sweet grandchildren saw it. They were amazed and awed. You could see the happiness and imagination in their eyes! I’m excited to get started on ours.
First step is to plan what you’d like to do. My GIL (grandmother-in-law) wanted 4 houses, 3 for the grandchildren and 1 for her. Cut a piece of plywood the size you want your base. You’ll notice there is a raised portion in the back and the at the frog house. You can achieve this by hot-gluing Styrofoam on the boards.
Next step is to hot glue artificial moss to the plywood and Styrofoam, and add bark to make a “woodsy” look. Bark from dried firewood works the best here because the bark easily comes off. Next you can place your houses and objects where you’d like them and add rocks, Spanish moss, etc. She hot-glued the houses down, but left the little items like the gnome and table unglued so the kids could play with them.
Hobby and craft stores carry cute tiny items like the houses, chairs, gnome, fences, etc. shop around to get the best deal!!
This little fairy village was a huge hit with the grandkids, they loved it!! I would highly recommend making this fairy village for your little one! I know I am!
Let me know what you think, ideas, comments, and suggestions welcome 🙂
