Elf on the Shelf Initial Arrival, INCLUDING LETTER
When we first got an Elf on the Shelf, I knew I wanted to make the grand entrance special for our little man. So to planning we started!
My grandmother bought it as a gift to us on Amazon, like the one here, and when she checked out she made sure it said our sons name with his address, this made it all the more fun. And when it arrived I stored it in a special hiding place!
In the meantime I wanted to incorporate Jesus into this new adventure we were embarking on, so I found a template online and worked away at writing a letter for Santa. Afterall, Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas!
After the letter was printed, I placed it in the box and wrapped it up in wrapping paper that I had hidden and stored it away for that special day.
I chose the first Saturday after Thanksgiving to introduce this new little creature, and I’ve stuck with that decision ever since! It’s much easier to plan big ideas on a Saturday than it is a crazy weekday!
I called my grandfather and asked if he’d come over and ring the door bell, leave the package at the steps, and hide.
It was amazing!
Hunter was SO excited! He couldn’t wait to open his special package!!
If you don’t have an Elf on the Shelf for your household, I highly recommend getting one. I cannot tell you the joy and magic this little elf has brought to our home. Last year my husband was in a motorcycle accident at Christmas time and my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. This little elf helped my son so much that words cannot express. Through all the sadness and pain we were experiencing, my son still couldn’t wait to get up and see what his little elf had done. I went to the extent of when we were in the hospital with my husband, I would come home every evening and still do our ideas we planned for. The joy and the magic of Christmas was still running through our home, amist all the pain.
