Ingredients for Homemade Deer Chili

Don’t let the amount of ingredients scare you – most are common seasonings you should keep on hand!
1 lb of deer/venison meat – you can also use regular ground meat.
1 can (15 ounces) Kidney Beans (drained)
1 can (15 ounces) Black Beans (drained)
1 can (15 ounces) Diced tomatoes with green chilis
1 can (6 ounces) Tomato Paste
1/2 onion – chopped
1/2 bell pepper – chopped
2 cups Beef Broth
1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
2 Teaspoons Kosher Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon Paprika

Optional toppings: Sour cream, Dried Chives, Shredded cheese

Directions

1 – Press sauté on your Instant Pot. When the dsiplay says “hot” put 2 tablespoons of oil and add chopped onions and pepper. Cook until tender.
2 – Add ground deer meat and brown. After meat is browned – drain off excess grease. To do this I carefully tilt the Instant Pot over the sink and use a ladle to hold back the meat and let the grease drain.
3 – Add in all remaining ingredients and stir together well.
4 – Turn the Instant Pot to Manual (or chili if yours has that setting) and cook about 20 minutes.
5 – Allow chili to sit for about 5 minutes and then do a quick release.

Serve with all your favorite toppings!

This recipe was so good, but I wish I would have added more tomatoes and corn! If you make this recipe, don’t forget to comment below and share what you thought! If you like this recipe, check out some of my others here.
