The Ultimate Fireworks Experience

Firework shows are a great time to celebrate our freedom and honor our military. It’s also a great time to spend with family and make memories. Sometimes I need a reminder or a list of

tips and “what to bring” when we go watch fireworks, so I made an ultimate list of tips and pointers to help make your experience it’s best!

Fireworks Tips & Pointers The Ultimate List
Tips to make your firework experience it’s BEST.

  1. Do some research before you choose a certain fireworks site. Some fireworks are better than others so do your research before you pick.
  2. Arrive early to make sure you get the best spot.
  3. When picking a parking spot, think about your exit route. Get to an easy accessible parking spot that’s close to the road. Nothing’s worse than sitting out in bumper to bumper traffic after the show.
  4. Make sure the kids use the bathroom before you go. A lot of places do not have restrooms to use and if they do, they’re disgusting!
  5. Be prepared for bad weather! Sometimes they’ll shoot fireworks even if it’s sprinkling so be prepared for rain or shine!
  6. If you have a truck, go in it than a car. It’s nice to sit on the tailgate or hang out in the bed of the truck to watch the night sky.

10 MUST BRING items with you to watch fireworks

  1. Blankets & pillows. Be relaxed and comfortable watching the fireworks show.
  2. Drinks. Nothing is worse than being out in that hot summer sun and not having anything cold to refresh you!
  3. Sparklers. Entertain the kids those few minutes before the fireworks start with sparklers!! Get their excitement started. (but don’t be like my husband and I and forget the lighter though!)
  4. Glow sticks. The dollar store has these out for CHEAP. Stop and pick some up, you won’t be disappointed!
  5. Chairs. Bring chairs so you don’t have to stand or sit on the hard ground.
  6. FRIENDS. This one is self-explanatory. Enjoy this experience with friends and family.
  7. CAMERA. don’t forget your camera. I’ve heard so many mama’s who didn’t get to take pics of their sweet babies because they forgot their cameras.
  8. Snacks. The kids will probably get hungry. Keep several good snacks on hand.
  9. Blow up mattress. I LOVE blow up mattresses in the bed of the truck… To watch the stars, watch fireworks, or even at the drive in. It makes the experience more comfortable!
  10. Games! Games like cornhole, cards, or even a board game is fun to pass the time and keep those kiddos entertained while waiting on the fireworks to start.

Sometimes you can be waiting on fireworks for 3 hours or more depending how busy the venue you’re at is. Use these top tips to be prepared and keep everyone happy! Fireworks are a fun experience and great family time! Make it a lasting memory for you and your family!
